The goal is this article was to reach out to our inner city youth to encourage them that they can live above the negative influences that may surround them.  As the saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover, and nor should a man be judged by his color.  As black men, people placing judgments upon us are inevitable; however these stereo-types and stigmas do not have to determine who and what we can become.  Poet Ed Bowman urges the audience to open their eyes wide in this poem titled...Look At Me

Soo for a guy that makes his money with his feet, now he will be moving them west to the city of Detroit. The news of Reggie Bush signing a 4-year deal with the Detroit Lions has just flooded all sources of media. Bush proved he could be a mid-tier every down back, by averaging 1,036 yards on 443 attempts in two seasons at Miami. Now he will look to share time with Detroit's starter Mikel Leshoure.  Miami on the other has begun making plans to play running back Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.

Confessions of A "Bad Girl"

Soo every now and then we all need to express who we feel we really are. In this case this person was touched and moved by a particular song that seemed to tell her story so vividly. Overwhelmed with mixed emotions our guest writer Dee chose to share how the message in this song related to her life. Explicit language used here

Both verses that are displayed here are from Wale’s song titled “Bad”.  Here Wale puts a different twist on his version of what a “Bad” girl is.  Let me be the first to say that I never considered myself  Bad meaning all the guys want me, my body is banging, I have on top notch designers, I rock a 36 inch long weave and Christian Louboutin’s or Jordan’s.  You know the typical ”Bad” Philly girl.  Then I heard this song and had a moment of realization.  It was as if Tiara Thomas had watched my life on the silver screen and said damn she’s Bad!

So what exactly is a  Bad girl?  Well, she is not a loud, 36 inch weave wearing, Christian Louboutin / Jordan rocking chick.  Nope not at all.

A Bad girl is I. Yes, I have said it.  I am a Bad girl.  I have issues, I can’t commit and I like to think I know how to fuck.  

Where does my Bad come from?  I have yet to fully figure that out.  Did a man do me wrong and he taught me a lesson I have chosen to share with every man after?  Was it heartbreak so deep that it left me scarred? Or maybe it was that fiery independent spirit that did me in.

As I listened to Wale describe more about this Bad girl it just fully convinced me that probably around he had met “me” How else could he know my secret, how else could he know my flow?

Even now as I listen to this song I wonder if I will ever out grow or stop being Bad or am I her and she is me for life.

Nick Cannon To Play Role of "Freeway" Rick Ross In Biopic Film...

 

Soo Nick Cannon and "Freeway" Rick Ross has just announced yesterday that Nick will play the role role of Rick Ross. The Biopic film will portray the life of the former drug king pin in dramatic fashion, giving the viewer an up close look on how Rick earned his reputation.

 Ross appears to be excited about working with Nick Cannon stating:“I've been wanting him to play my role since '96, We got hooked up, I met him … I loved his personality.”
Cannon also spoke with enthusiasm stating:“This is history in the making right here. We family now. We gonna get this thing right however long it take. The story gotta be told: the real Rick Ross.”

The script will be written by Actor/Director Nick Cassavetes. Cassavetes resume as a director is pretty entertaining bringing you the likes of John Q, The Notebook and Alpha Dog.
