Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine Donate $70 Million To Launch Arts Academy At USC

Soo who says rap music doesn't value education...Yes this news may shock some critics as two of rap's musics' most influential figures come together for a great long term cause. Reports have stated that rap music moguls Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine have come together to donate $70 million to the University of Southern California to establish a four-year undergraduate program for students looking to major in area such as computer science, Business, visual design and entrepreneurship.

The program will be titled The Jimmy Iovine & Andre Young Academy For Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation . The program will include one-on-one faculty mentoring from USC's schools of business, fine arts, engineering and music, and offer students the opportunity to interact with guest speakers and lecturers from the arts and entertainment field.  The academy will start enrolling students in the fall of 2014 with a class of 25. Students will be chosen by their academic achievement.
