Rick Ross and Jeezy Get Into Fight At BET HIP-HOP Awards

The latest buzz coming out at the BET Awards is not good. Rumor has it that Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into a physical altercation backstage during the BET Hip-Hop awards. Someone is also in custody after they fired shots during the incident. We will have further details when they become available.

Stalley seems to get minimal limelight when it comes to MMG, but he still finds a way to stay relevant. Last week Stalley released the visual to his track "Home To You" which features his label mate Wale. "Home To You" can be found on Stalley's mixtape "Savage Journey To The American Dream." Stalley along with Wale are also working on a theme track for ESPN's First Take talk show, which features Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. On Monday, First Take will debut the new theme song created exclusively for the show by Stalley and Wale. The Art of Storytelling: Eric B & Rakim

Soo What's on your mind? We ask because this is the rhetorical question being analyzed in this article. We turned to a rapper who arguably one of the greatest of all time. Rakim was able to relate to all listeners whether street bound or highly sophisticated. It was his precise delivery that allowed him to move the crowd.

In one of his more softer songs What's On Your Mind, Rakim tells a romantic story of his relationship with a young woman with whom he had met randomly on the streets of Brooklyn. While his initial approach was sincere and open, the young woman's was the exact opposite. She rejected his conversation and made it clear that she was not interested. Playing hard to get is common is this game of cat and mouse, for the woman now has a change of heart and is in pursuit of her pursuer. Rakim gladly accepts and the two engage into a union that seems to go beyond physical pleasure. He expresses the urge to make love to her mind.
Its obvious that Rakim was looking for a mental connection with someone so he could share his thoughts and daily troubles. He was only hoping that she was able to be on the same level.  Listen to the story below.

"42" The Jackie Robinson Movie (Official Trailer)

The trailer for "42" marks another monumental film that is on the horizon.  "42" depicts the trials and tribulations of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American player to make it to the Major Leagues. At a time when racism was rampant, Robinson was able to overcome to make it in a predominantly "white" sport. Chadwick Boseman of The Express, takes on the lead role playing Jackie Robinson. The movie is also starring Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, "the Dodger’s general manager who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the Major Leagues." Robinson's major league team was the "Brooklyn Dodgers," so Jay-Z's track "Brooklyn We Go Hard" is appropriate.  "42" is set to hit theaters on April 12, 2013. Check out the trailer below.

This one is for my history buffs. The brilliant Steven Spielberg will reincarnate Abraham Lincoln, with a movie about the 16th presidents life. Daniel Day-Lewis will take on the task of playing president Lincoln. For those that don't know, Abraham Lincoln is best known for his part in ending slavery. Lincoln will be released in theaters on November 16. Check out the trailer below.

Apple To Unveil IPhone 5 At Sept. 12th Launch Event

After a wave of rumors Apple has finally confirmed the date for the unveiling for the IPhone 5. September 12th marks the day the world can finally see the latest IPhone. The phone is rumored to be taller and thinner than its predecessor. The IPhone 5 is also rumored to have a larger 4-inch display for easier navigation throughout the phone. It is also being reported that Apple will begin to take pre-orders for the phone after the launch event has ended on Sept. 12th. Everyone is expecting the official IPhone 5 release date to be September 21st. We will confirm the official release date when it becomes available.

The Art of Storytelling: Billy Paul

Soo in this edition of storytelling we decided to dig deep for a musical story that could represent passion, and controversy at the same time. The controversy comes in, as many listeners in the old school community debate over the true meaning of this song... Me and Mrs. Jones performed by Billy Paul.

To most the song was a sweet confession given by Billy Paul, he starts off to tell the audience that he and Mrs. Jones had a thing going. The fact that he labels her as Mrs. may indicate that she was older, and yes even married making the experience appear to be a sneaky naughty pleasure. Billy seems to express joy at the thought of meeting her daily for the connection is oh so strong. But for every high comes a low and Billy goes as far to say he feels physical pain upon their departure. Hmmnnnn

Now we take the perspective from the listeners who just may have the ability to decode the message that was displayed here. To begin, the term "Jonesing" was always tied to drug addicts in their craving state. It has been theorized that Billy was not singing about an affair with a woman, but yet his battle with heroine addiction. Should you now go back and analyze the lyrics, you may find some phrases that support this theory. He says that they have to be extra careful that they don't build up their hopes too high, implicating the danger of an overdose. He adds that it hurts soo much inside when they depart, implications of withdrawal.  The cry of an individual who has been under control of one of the worlds most powerful drugs. Listen up below and see if you identify who Mrs. Jones really is.

Wish You Were Still Here... Michael Clarke Duncan

We are sad to share the news of Michael Clarke Duncan passing. Duncan had been in the hospital since July 13th after suffering a heart attack. The 54 year old actor was best known for his Oscar nominanted role, as a death row inmate who possessed magical healing powers in the 1999 film The Green Mile. Before acting, Duncan worked as a bodyguard for stars like: Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and The Notorious B.I.G. Duncan was one of the most recognizable African-American actors of our time and his presence in our films will be missed. We wish you were still here... Michael Clarke Duncan.

Men of Expression: Beaten By Love

Soo we would like to introduce a new segment to the site titled Men of Expression, its a collection of personal thoughts that certain men have put to together to shed light on certain topics. Most topics may appear to go against the norm as they are the direct feelings of men, who want to challenge certain stereotypes. Greg McClain is our first writer, and his goal is to open the door on an issue that doesn't seem to get any attention.

Beaten By Love is the written expression on how men can speak on physical and emotional abuse they may have endured within their relationship with a woman, be it past or current. There is a man somewhere at this moment who is locked up for domestic violence towards a woman. There is no excuse for such action towards a woman rather it be physically or mentally.

At this point I would like to discuss men who have experienced abuse by woman. Some will laugh, others will say these men just need to man up. Many will say he brought it on himself by allowing this to happen. To imply this means, men are less content to have feelings and emotions than a woman. This is crazy! Think about it ,as a man having to be quiet about their abuse of fear of appearing weak in the eyes of society. Such as, feeling rejected and unwanted with low self esteem.

This issue is being placed at a all time low to lose your confidence as a man. Who can they turn to and talk about this matter? Can a man even acknowledge that they're in an abusive relationship? Where is their support and education to deal with these issues? This was not a letter to downplay the abuse that woman go through , but to put out that they're are men who go through the same thing. (ABUSE HAS NO GENDER BE IT MALE OR FEMALE!)
