Unsigned Hype: Get Low

A true MC is passionate about their craft. The battle is staying consistent while maintaining a relevant feel, without the backing of a major record label. In the case of underground Philly rapper Get Low, we have a artist that has untapped but realized potential. Hailing from the uptown section of Philly, Get Low has managed to stay motivated after realizing his passion for music as a teenager. Coming up as a youth Get Low rapped with friends daily and honed his skills as a legit artist. Those same friends along with Get Low formed the rap group "The Staff." The Staff made quality music, that was noticed by a up and coming record label. That label was Watch Dog Music, which is owned by Kamal Gray, pianist for the legendary Roots Crew. For one reason or the other, the situation with Watch Dog didn't work out and The Staff disbanded over time. Moving forward as a solo artist Get Low continues to write, record and produce quality music. Now operating under his own label "Fly High Entertainment," Get Low is determined to take his music career to the next level. Check out the freestyles below, along with some of Get Low's other material at www.reverbnation.com/getlow

  6. Great article. It's great to showcase local talent. It's definitely a shame that all you hear is garbage on the radio and no real artist.
