The Roots Release Their New Album: Undun

Soo the multi-talented Roots band has released their 13th studio album on Tuesday December 6th. This album has been critiqued in many different ways.  It challenges all listeners to explore and accept the band's evolution. This is not your traditional roots project, being that this is a concept album. The albums starts its tale from the end and journeys to the beginning, as it narrates a tragic murder(in reverse). The plot surrounds a character named Redford Stevens, who lives in the inner city, troubled by the same crime and drugs that our society presents today. The musics depicts all the events step by  step as Redford is destined to meet his demise.

The Roots makes it clear on this album, that music is a true art form and only the artist can create his or her boundaries. The album is all but 38 minutes long, long enough to travel through the realms of jazz, classical, and revolutionary R&B. It gives off a dull /gloomy feeling on some of the tracks. It concludes with the final four tracks being instrumentals. letting the previous energy saturate into the mind of the follower. As always the features are justified starting with Dice Raw, Greg P.O.R.N, Phonte, Truck North and Big K.R.I.T.

Undun Track List:
1. The Un
2. Sleep
3. Make My (Feat. Big K.R.I.T.)
4. One Time (Feat. Phonte and Dice Raw)
5. Kool On (Feat. Greg Porn & Truck North)
6. The Other Side (Feat. Bilal Oliver & Greg Porn)
7. Stomp (Feat. Greg Porn)
8. Lighthouse (Feat. Dice Raw)
9. I Remember
10. Tip The Scale (Feat. Dice Raw)
11. Redford (For Yia Yia & Pappou)
12. Possibility (2nd Movement)
13. Will To Power (3rd Movement)
14. Finality (4th Movement)

We shall not tell you all what to expect on the project, as it is your job to seek a new sound and support others who at least make an attempt to evolve in their craft. Maybe you are an old school Roots fan and feel that this lane is too slow to drive in... Reasonably Understood. However; the message behind the music should provide some insight on the problems out here in these streets. Maybe we can find a universal solution.

Check out the video below as it starts to give you the end(lol)
