Behind The Music: Eric Roberson

Soo here we felt the need to jump in the neo-soul lane and drive alongside an artist who may not receive much attention, but creates good music.  Eric Roberson definitely is worthy enough to drive in this lane producing some soothing melodies that will ease the tension that is present.
Born on September 25, 1976 in Rahway, New Jersey. Eric Roberson has made his way through the entertainment business. Starting off as an actor in high school, Eric featured in a few notable films "The Tap dance Kid", Grease", and "Anything Goes".  He attended Howard University where he studied musical theatre. During that time his first single "The Moon" was released in 1994 under Warner Brother records.
After appearing in a few musical plays, Eric signed a songwriting deal with EMI. Its here he would work with the likes of Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild and Jazzy Jeff. As a member of Jeff's A Touch Of Jazz production company, Roberson made contributions to Jeff's debut album, The Magnificent in 2002.

He continues songwriting work as well as releasing his own material through his Blue Erro Soul imprint.
He has released an array of studio albums under the Blue Erro Soul label. The Vault Vol. 1(July 1, 2003) The Appetizer(November 7, 2005) ...Left(February 27, 2007) Musician First(August 25, 2009) and his latest Mister Nice Guy(November 8, 2011). He also has released a live album titled Erro Live Vol. DC(August 10, 2006).
Check out an older track below, it features Phonte from the hip-hop group Little Brother.

  1. He has been responsible for a lot of of the neo soul music you have grown to love

  2. Good to see yall have a balanced attack... true songwriter rite here he is well seasoned in the industry

  3. I saw the video awhile back. I didnt know who he was, recognized phonte tho. So I figured he had to be a good artist. Judging by most of little brothers work (phonte inspired drake a great deal). I like wat I'm hearing so far. Keep me posted wit his new material if u can. I'm just saying!
